This series was created to invoke the minds and inspire the people. To water the roots of what's long been buried as we celebrate
99 years since the devastating loss our
crown jewel.

Bringing awareness to what once was, surfacing the feelings that date back to a time and place where Tulsa, Oklahoma flourished. The community prospered and generated wealth at a time when Black people were searching for a place to thrive amongst
like-faced people.

This BlackWallStreet, as it was coined, had hope, love, and togetherness as a foundation for Tulsans. When the massacre of 1921 erupted, it burned and buried the memories and motivation that was once the catalyst
​of a Living Black Wallstreet.
